CT Scan

When we undertake complex treatments such as dental implants, it is important to obtain an accurate diagnosis and produce a customized treatment plan for each patient.

CT Scans help us determine the location of critical anatomical structures, as well as quantity and quality of your bone in preparation for dental implant surgery

CT stands for computerized tomography. A CT scan creates a series of x-rays with superior image quality. These images are then pieced together using advanced computerized technology to form a series of slices. We can then view the internal structures of your head, face and neck in 3 dimensions and with a high degree of accuracy.

Dental Implants at Cusp

Smile bright and smile often! At Cusp Dentistry, we love to watch the transformation from a closed mouth smile to one that is literally shining from ear to ear. Unfortunately, a missing tooth or teeth, broken or a severely cracked tooth, or a loose denture, partial or bridge, can have a negative effect on one’s confidence and the ability to smile and laugh.

No need to place your hand over your mouth anymore. Dental implants, a predictable tooth replacement option, offer enormous benefits that look - matching in color, size and shape, and feel like real teeth. In fact, according to the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, three million people in the U.S have dental implants, and the number is growing by a half million every year.

Dental implant surgery, a simple procedure that can permanently replace one tooth, multiple teeth or a full arch replacement, with proper maintenance and care. With a very high success rate (about 98%), dental implants can do more than just restore your smile:

  • Speaking: Dentures, unlike dental implants can make it difficult to articulate - words may slur or mumble, not to mention the fear of dentures slipping during conversation.

  • Chewing: Stop missing your favorite foods due to a missing tooth or teeth.

  • Sunken-In Facial Appearance (mouth and chin): Unlike dental implants, dentures do not stimulate the jawbone to promote the regrowth of tissue, resulting in deterioration and often an older appearance.

  • Support/Stabilization: Whether you have a bridge or denture, a dental implant can provide additional support and stabilization.

  • Helps Reduce Pain and Swelling: A missing tooth can result in the shifting of adjacent teeth, which can contribute to jaw pain, swollen gums and the loss of additional teeth.

  • No More Fillings: Say goodbye to cavities, however proper dental care is vital to preventing gum disease.

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant utilizes a biocompatible surgical-grade titanium screw that will fuse with the jawbone (osseointegration), just like a natural tooth. A temporary crown may be utilized during the healing process of three to six months. Once fused to the jawbone, the customized, tooth-colored restoration (dental crown) is securely connected with an abutment.

A dental implant requires no special care - brush and floss like you normally would with your natural teeth. From young adults to those in their golden years, dental implants are an affordable option with function and aesthetic benefits galore.
